A Packed House at Piedmont Arts

Last Friday, our newest exhibits Crowns and Legacy of the Generations opened to great fanfare. There were over 200 guest in attendance. The galleries were packed with new faces and beautiful hats. Even the Piedmont Arts staff got into the spirit of the exhibit and dawned their finest "crowns".

Never before has a Piedmont Arts exhibit rallied such diverse groups in our community to come out, not only to view the works on display, but also to finacillay support the exhibits. We are very grateful for the hard work of all those who helped make these exhibits a reality!

Many of you may know that Crowns and Legacy for the Generations are being exhibited in memory of our dear friend Elnora Foster. El was the Director of Finance at Piedmont Arts for ten years and was a dedicated community volunteer. She was instrumental in bringing the Oral History Project, which was presented to several local organizations at the opening, and the Crowns exhibit to fruition. We are pleased to honor her through two exhibits, which meant so much to her.

If you missed the opening, please pay a visit to these beautiful exhibits...and don't forget to wear your hat!

Crowns and Legacy for the Generations will be on diplay at Piedmont Arts through February 21, 2009. For more info on these exhibits, visit www.PiedmontArts.org.
