The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences and Arts Midwest. It gives communities the opportunity to come together to read, discuss and celebrate one of 23 selections from American and world literature. Piedmont Arts was one of only 75 nonprofit organizations to receive a grant to host a Big Read project between September 2010 and June 2011.
