New Director of Exhibitions & Finance Manager Announced
Piedmont Arts is pleased to announce that Brandon Adams has been hired as the organization's Director of Exhibitions. Adams will replace Tina Sell, who leaves the post at the end of July when she and her family plan to move to Pennsylvania.
Adams, a Bassett native, gained extensive knowledge of Piedmont Arts' exhibitions program as a summer intern with the organization in 2010. During his internship he played an instrumental role in the planning and installation of several exhibits including, Homelands: Portraits of Ireland and Israel by Gordon Wetmore and Binh Danh: In the Eclipse of Angkor. He also curated and installed a special exhibit at Hooker Furniture featuring work by Lynwood Artists members. Adams holds a BA in Art History from Roanoke College and has completed a broad range of course work in childhood and k-12 education. He is the son of Kasim and Cindy Adams of Bassett.
"I am truly honored to be joining the Piedmont Arts team as the Director of Exhibitions," said Adams. "This organization has been achieving excellence in our community for the past fifty years and I look forward to being a part of that tradition. At the same time, I am extremely excited for the endless possibilities that the future holds for the exhibitions program and Piedmont Arts."
Piedmont Arts is also pleased to announce that Pam Jamison Allen has been hired as the organization's Finance Manager. Allen takes over for Nancy Plybon who retired in mid-July.
Allen is a Henry County native with wide-ranging experience in accounting. She holds a BA in Business Administration from James Madison University and has worked as the HOPE Initiative Coordinator for the United Way of Henry County & Martinsville and as Program Coordinator for Grace Network. Allen is the daughter of the late Jewell and Pete Jamison of Figsboro. She resides in Martinsville with her husband, Sid Allen, and son, Sidney Allen IV.
Allen commented, "I'm exited to be a part of the Piedmont Arts team, and I'm looking forward to being associated with something that is great for Martinsville and Henry County and beyond. We are so fortunate to have Piedmont Arts here to enrich our lives."
