Roanoke Symphony Brings "It's a Wonderful Life" to Piedmont Arts On Stage

David Stewart Wiley, music director and conductor for Roanoke Symphony Orchestra
On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra will make it’s sixth trip to Martinsville High School Auditorium for Piedmont Arts On Stage’s annual Holiday Pops Spectacular.

This year’s concert, themed "It's A Wonderful Life," brings to the stage over 100 musicians for an orchestral and choral medley featuring songs from the timeless film starring Jimmy Stewart.

Also taking the stage, soprano and Miss Virginia 2011, Elizabeth Crot will perform with the symphony. Crot’s "magic" rendition of "Sempre Libera" won her a $16,500 scholarship and the title of Miss Virginia at the 2011 pageant held in Roanoke.
