Piedmont Arts Brings Paper Making Workshop to Carlisle School

On Wednesday, April 23, artist Gibby Waitzkin and her studio assistants, Whitney Stahl and Jade Billand, led advanced upper school art students in a day-long Piedmont Arts paper making workshop at Carlisle School. 

Using an ancient Chinese method and locally harvested natural fibers, students pressed handmade paper to create a keepsake book, accented with pulp paint and embedded botanical objects.

Gibby's paper making workshop was presented at Carlisle School by Piedmont Arts' educational outreach program and was held in conjunction with her exhibit, Continuum of Being, which was recently on display at the museum.
