Roanoke Symphony's Holiday Pops Concert a "Holiday Tradition" In Martinsville

Celebrate the holidays with Piedmont Arts On Stage as Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Chorus returns to Martinsville for Holiday Pops "Home for the Holidays" on Sunday, Dec 7 at Martinsville High School Auditorium.
With over 200 singers and a full orchestra conducted by Maestro David Stewart Wiley, Roanoke Symphony's Holiday Pops concert is bigger and better than ever. Hear heartwarming musical selections, a few holiday surprises and show-stopping musical numbers in the spirit of the season.
“Coming to Martinsville and sharing our music has become part of the RSO’s holiday tradition," said Roanoke Symphony Orchestra Executive Director David Crane. "We are very happy to return to Martinsville this season.”
This year's concert will feature special guest performances by Martinsville's own John Heiss and nationally renowned soprano, Ariana Wyatt.
A graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, Mr. Heiss is a former drama and choral music teacher at Martinsville Middle School and Martinsville High School. He has appeared in several local TheatreWorks productions, including roles as Father in Children of Eden and Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. He also directed the TheatreWorks production, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
Originally from Southern California, Ms. Wyatt is a graduate of the Juilliard Opera Center. She has performed a number of roles including Micaela in The Tragedy of Carmen for Opera Omaha and Leila in Les Pêcheurs de Perles at the Florida Grand Opera. She is currently a visiting assistant professor of voice at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.
Piedmont Arts will be collecting canned goods for Grace Network at the Symphony's performance. All non-perishable items will be collected in the lobby. Lobby doors will open at 6 pm for donations.
Tickets to Piedmont Arts On Stage presents Roanoke Symphony's Holiday Pops "Home for the Holidays" are $25 for reserved seats, $15 for adults and $5 for students/veterans.
