Piedmont Arts Hosts Big Hats and Bow Ties Garden Party

Garden Party Raises Funds for the Arts

On Saturday, June 13, the Piedmont Arts Board of Directors and Piedmont Arts Yo Pros will host the Big Hats and Bow Ties Garden Party, an outdoor party and fundraiser, from 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm at the museum's Little Post Office, located at 207 Starling Avenue.

The event will feature yard games, like bocce, corn hole and croquet; a 50/50 raffle; and a big hat contest. In accordance with the event's theme, guests are encouraged to wear their biggest hats and fanciest bow ties, along with creative cocktail attire.

"Our second annual Garden Party is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the summery weather with friends while supporting the arts," said Piedmont Arts Director of Marketing, Communications and Design Bernadette Moore. "It's also a great opportunity to tour the newly-opened Little Post Office, which currently features an exhibit by watercolor artist Jane Iten. Will Gravely has worked tirelessly on the Little Post Office and grounds and has created a perfect setting for this night out in support of the arts."

"Last year’s Garden Party was a blast, and we had such a great response from attendees that we decided to make it an annual summer event,” said Kim Buck, incoming board president of Piedmont Arts. “Best of all, this is a fun, low-cost way to support an organization that adds so much to our community’s quality of life. I hope everyone will join us, whether you’re a young professional or just young at heart.”

Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar with beer, wine, and Arnold Palmers will be available. Guests receive one complimentary drink per ticket. In case of rain, the event will be held Saturday, June 27.

Everyone 18 and over is encouraged to take part in Big Hats and Bow Ties. A valid ID is required for entry. Guests may park at Piedmont Arts, located at 215 Starling Avenue, or at First Baptist Church, located at 23 Starling Avenue.
