Dalton Named “Expressions 2015” People’s Choice Award Winner

An acrylic painting by Rodney “Rupe” Dalton has been named the winner of Piedmont Arts’ Expressions 2015 People’s Choice Award.

Out of 186 works entered in the museum’s open-entry art exhibition, Dalton’s work, “Out of Options,” was chosen by community members as the award winner.

“Voting was open to the community throughout the exhibit, which opened on May 8,” said Piedmont Arts Director of Exhibitions Heidi Pinkston. “We had a great response to the contest, with over 200 votes being cast. Rupe’s work is always a favorite at Expressions and we are pleased to announce that he has received this honor.”

An annual exhibit at Piedmont Arts, Expressions offers local and regional artists the opportunity to submit up to two works for display. Each year, the museum awards cash prizes to winners in seven categories, as well as the Lynwood Artists Award, Best in Show, and People’s Choice.
