Third Annual Martinsville Culture Crawl Comes to Uptown
Culture Crawl joins Third Friday Art Walk and TGIF
The Third Annual Martinsville Culture Crawl is scheduled for Friday, September 18 from 4 – 7 pm in Uptown Martinsville.
This year, the Culture Crawl will coincide with Third Friday Art Walk and Martinsville Uptown's TGIF Summer Concert Series.
Martinsville Culture Crawl is designed to celebrate arts and culture in Martinsville by showcasing the many cultural opportunities available in the community. Visitors to Uptown can enjoy music, art, tours, activities, food and special discounts at area businesses and restaurants.
“We are happy that the Culture Crawl will be joining Third Friday Art Walk and TGIF this year, to bring visitors to Uptown,” said Piedmont Arts Director of Marketing, Communications and Design Bernadette Moore. “Art Walks take place monthly, and many of the same businesses participate in both events, but it’s nice to have the opportunity to draw in more of our community with so many special events and discounts.”
“The Culture Crawl is an event put together by local arts and culture organizations,” said Piedmont Arts Executive Director Kathy Rogers. “Visitors will be able to experience a wide array of activities during the event as they walk along Starling, Church, Main and Fayette Streets. After visiting our Uptown businesses, we hope everyone will enjoy an evening of fun and live music at TGIF.”
Participants who wish to enhance their Culture Crawl experience can purchase a Culture Crawl wristband. Wristbands are $10 each and allow wearers access to special discounts, events and giveaways. Wristbands are also required to ride the Culture Crawl shuttle, which will taxi guests around Uptown during the event. Wristbands are available at Piedmont Arts, Virginia Museum of Natural History, Martinsville-Henry County Visitors Center and Patrick Henry Community College.
