Piedmont Arts Yo Pros hosts Masquerade Party
for area young professionals
Piedmont Arts Yo Pros will host a Masquerade Party for area young professionals on Friday, February 12 at Piedmont Arts.
Inspired by Mardi Gras and the African masks on display in the museum’s exhibit, Fortune, Courage, Love: Arts of Africa’s Akan and Kuba Kingdoms from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the event will feature a mask-making station and a “Human Bingo” networking game, as well as complimentary themed appetizers and a cash bar with Hurricanes.
“This will be a fun, festive night where you can meet other young professionals and check out the fabulous new exhibit at the art museum,” said Piedmont Arts Board President Kim Buck. "Though it’s technically a few days after Mardi Gras, we thought it was a natural tie-in because West African and African-American culture have played such an important role in the New Orleans food, music, and traditions we all know and love.”
The Masquerade Party will take place from 7:30 – 10:30 pm. Tickets are $10 each and include one drink per ticket. Tickets can be purchased at Piedmont Arts, 215 Starling Ave., by calling 276.632.3221 or online here: http://bit.ly/1mZdnP0
