Zip Zap Zop Performs at Preschool in the Galleries

Carlisle School’s Zip Zap Zop Theatre Company performed for local preschool students at Piedmont Arts’ Preschool in the Galleries on Thursday. Their play focused on the twelve labors of Hercules, a series of seemingly impossible tasks completed by the mythic hero in an effort to achieve immortality.

The play was the final performance of the school year and was also the final Zip Zap Zop performance for six Carlisle seniors: Cody Mills, Gabby Shepherd, Abby Bridges, Lauren Martin, Hannah Williams and Summer Lawrence.

Carlisle School's Susan Aaron said, "I have had the pleasure of working with most of these fabulous seniors not only in Zip Zap Zop, but also as their 6th grade and freshman English instructor, and have been the college counselor for each of them. They have all contributed so much enthusiasm and effort to help make Zip Zap Zop a success in our community. Each is an excellent example of how important the arts are to everyone. We will miss them next year, but our remaining members look forward to planning new and exciting programs for Piedmont Arts."

Carlisle seniors (L-R) Cody Mills, Gabby Shepherd, Abby Bridges, Lauren Martin, Hannah Williams, Summer Lawrence take their final bow as Zip Zap Zop performers.

Piedmont Arts’ Preschool in the Galleries is a series of programs for pre-K students designed to foster a love of the performing and visual arts at a young age. Performances are free of charge to students and schools and feature performers from Carlisle School’s Zip Zap Zop Theatre Company, Martinsville High School Jazz Band and Stanleytown Elementary Children’s Choir among others.
