Gallery Talk with Joni Pienkowski at "Art @ Happy Hour"
Artist invites guests to submit questions and comments about exhibit
Blacksburg-based artist Joni Pienkowski will lead a gallery talk during Art @ Happy Hour on Friday, September 30 at Piedmont Arts.
Guests are invited to view the museum’s exhibits in a casual, fun setting while Pienkowski discusses the works on display in her three collections: The Paint Saints – paying homage to some of the most famous artists in the world; Abstracts on Birch and Paper; and The Many Looks of Self-Portraits.
“Joni’s work is diverse, bringing together figurative and non-figurative pieces with the use of color, line and texture,” said Director of Exhibitions Heidi Pinkston. “Her three collections work well together and offer multiple views of the artistic process.”
Leading up to Art @ Happy Hour, Piedmont Arts invites guests to submit questions and comments about Pienkowski's exhibit. She will discuss these comments during the gallery talk. Guests may submit questions or comments at the museum or by visiting the Art @ Happy Hour event page on Facebook.
In addition to work by Pienkowski, A World, In Pieces featuring paintings by local artist Greg Arens is on display in the museum’s Lynwood Artist Gallery.
Art @ Happy Hour will take place from 5 – 7 pm at Piedmont Arts. Complimentary wine, beer and refreshments will be available. Admission is free.
