Piedmont Arts Adds Five to Board of Directors
Elects Officers for 2017–2018

At its May 16 meeting, the Piedmont Arts’ Board of Directors elected five new Board members for 2017-2018. They are: Lucy Coleman, Director of Operations, Corporate Retail for Bassett Furniture; Tammy Forbes, Writing Center Coordinator/Faculty at Patrick Henry Community College; Natalie Hodge, writer speaker and entrepreneur; Meritha Rucker, art teacher for Henry County Public Schools; and Dr. Paulette Simington, Executive Director, Special Education and Student Services for Martinsville City Public Schools.


In addition to electing new Board members, the Board elected the following slate of officers:

President-Joyce Staples, retired instructor from Patrick Henry Community College; 1st Vice President- Donna White, formerly with Blue Ridge Bank; 2nd Vice President-Aaron Rawls, Phoenix University; Treasurer-Paul Huckfeldt, CFO, Hooker Furniture; Secretary-Attorney Courtney Armstrong Wenkstern; and Immediate Past President-Dr. Jared Cotton, Superintendent of Henry County Public Schools.

Continuing their service on the Board are: Masha Edelen, owner/web developer, HD WebStudio; Ronnie Fultz, Hooker Furniture; Julian Mei, Berry-Elliott Realtors; Susan Smith, sales associate with Portraits South; Dr. Gayatri Titus; and Danny Wulff, owner/operator, Chick-fil-A.

“We are extremely fortunate to have such a diverse group of individuals leading the museum,” said Executive Director Kathy Rogers. “They are all passionate about arts and culture, and they each bring unique talents and gifts to Piedmont Arts.”
