Garden Party with Jason Springs, July 8

Garden Party to feature live music by
Danville-based songwriter Jason Springs, local craft beer

Piedmont Arts’ annual Garden Party will be held Saturday, July 8 from 6 – 9 pm at the museum’s new R.P. Gravely-A.J. Lester Art Garden. The event will feature live music by Danville’s Jason Springs.

“This is the first year we’ve had live music at the Garden Party,” said Director of Marketing, Communications and Design Bernadette Moore. “If you haven’t heard Jason’s music, get ready to be blown away. He has roots in our region and they are evident in his soulful Americana.”

Jason has been writing and performing in Virginia and North Carolina for 5 years, most recently gaining momentum in the area as an up-and-coming songwriter. He released his debut album, Blue Collar Bones & Busted Knuckles, in 2016. His music is inspired by real life experiences, producing honest and thought-provoking lyrics.

In addition the live music, guests can enjoy snacks, yard games, wine, and beer from Henry County’s first craft brewery, Mountain Valley Brewing. Mountain Valley will have three varieties of their locally-made craft beer available during the event.

“We are excited to work with Peggy and Herb at Mountain Valley,” said Moore. “It’s really fun to be able to bring a local musician and a local brewery to an event like this. It shows off the great things we have happening in our community.”

Guests will be treated to water and lemonade free of charge, but should bring cash for the bar and a lawn chair or blanket for seating. They can also take part in a 50/50 raffle. No outside food or drinks are allowed at this event. In case of rain, the Garden Party will be held at Piedmont Arts.

Tickets to Piedmont Arts’ Garden Party with Jason Springs are $15 general admission. They are on sale now at Piedmont Arts, 215 Starling Ave., and online at PiedmontArts.org.
