Expressions 2017 People's Choice Award Winner Announced

wins People's Choice Award
Reverence, a sculpture made of wire and paper clips by Bassett High School student Samara Ollman, is the winner of the Expressions 2017 People’s Choice Award at Piedmont Arts. Ollman’s piece received 9 out of 134 total votes cast during the annual exhibit. Samara's piece also won First Place in the Student category.
“We are so excited that Samara’s work won this year’s People’s Choice Award,” said Director of Exhibitions Heidi Pinkston. “This is the first time a student’s work has won the award. It really speaks to Samara’s amazing talent and the great teachers she has at Bassett High School. Congratulations to Samara from everyone at Piedmont Arts.”
Expressions is one of the most popular exhibits in Piedmont Arts’ exhibition schedule. Presented by Lynwood Artists and the museum, this year’s open-entry exhibit featured works by more than 130 local and regional artists. Expressions will be on display at Piedmont Arts through Friday, July 21. Admission is free.
