American Indian Family Day Set for Aug. 26


Free Family Day features crafts, snacks and 
performance by American Indian flutist Arnold Richardson

Join Piedmont Arts for a free 
Family Day celebrating the art and culture of the American Indian on Saturday, August 26 from 11 am – 1 pm at the museum.

Enjoy a performance by American Indian flutist Arnold Richardson. Also known by his Iroquois name, Tsa'ne Do'se, Arnold is a gifted musician and sculptor. He has recently been named a recipient of the North Carolina Heritage Award and his extraordinary gift of flute playing has brought him notoriety as a top American Indian flutist in the East. During Family Day, Arnold’s work can be seen in Piedmont Arts’ current exhibit, Indigenous: The Art of the American Indian.

Free crafts include:
  • Corn Husk Dolls
  • Beaded Necklaces
  • Mat Weaving
  • Write your name in Cherokee

Complimentary snacks will be provided. All ages are welcome and admission is free of charge.
