Free Performance by Percussionist Tom Teasley


Percussionist Tom Teasley explores world music 
with free performance at Piedmont Arts

Master percussionist Tom Teasley will take guests on a journey through world music and innovative percussion techniques during a free performance at Piedmont Arts on Thursday, November 30 at 7 pm.

Teasley will introduce the audience to the sounds of world music and showcase his instrumental prowess by using a variety of different instruments to create musical magic.
A critically acclaimed, award-winning artist, Teasley has traveled the globe, worked with the National Symphony, and served as artist-in-residence at the Kennedy Center. The Washington Post called him “a percussionist in the widest and most exuberant sense of the word, a musical wizard and multi-instrumental genius.”

Teasley’s performance is admission free and all ages are welcome to attend. A cash bar and light refreshments will be available.

In conjunction with Teasley’s performance, Sounds You Can See, a video exhibition created by the artist is on display at Piedmont Arts through December 30, 2017. In Teasley’s video, viewer’s enter a world where sight and sound intersect as one. Embracing film as a source of inspiration and experimentation, Sounds You Can See merges imagery with Teasley’s original music.
