Blues, Brews & Stews Set for Oct. 12

Piedmont Arts’ Blues, Brews & Stews brings live music, craft beer, food and fun to the museum’s Gravely-Lester Art Garden on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6 – 9 pm.

“We’re excited for the museum’s first ever Blues, Brews & Stews,” said Marketing and Programs Coordinator Holly Burton. “The weather is beginning to cool down and it’s the perfect time of year for a cozy get-together in the Art Garden.”

Blues duo Parker & Gray from Staunton, Virginia will perform. The duo’s sound merges acoustic blues, folk and soul, packing the robust sound of a full band into a small package. Parker & Gray were the solo/duo winners of the Central Virginia Blue Society Challenge in 2016 and the first place and solo/duo winners of the River City Blues Society of Richmond in 2017.

Danville’s Ballad Brewing will provide craft beer on-site during the event. Cash Crop, a traditional farmhouse ale, and Fast Mail, the Gold Medal winner in the British and Scottish Ale category at the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild Cup, will be available for $5 per pint.

Guests can enjoy classic Brunswick stew or a vegetarian option, cornbread and water or tea for $5 per meal. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket. No outside food or drinks.

Admission to Blues, Brews & Stews is $15 per person. Tickets are on sale now at Piedmont Arts and online at PiedmontArts.org.

Blues, Brews & Stews is sponsored by Gym 24, Jones & DeShon Orthodontics and Anglers Choice.
