Piedmont Arts Presents Annual Holiday Pops Concert, Dec. 8
Celebrate the holidays with Piedmont Arts as the museum presents Roanoke Symphony Holiday Pops Spectacular, the most highly anticipated show of the holiday season, on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Martinsville High School Auditorium. New this year, the concert will be a matinee performance beginning at 3 pm.
There’s no better way to lift your spirits than with the music of the season delivered in full sound and spectacle by the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. Maestro David Stewart Wiley will conduct the Holiday Pops with all the magical elements guests have come to expect – high energy, familiar carols, lots of holiday warmth and maybe even a surprise or two.
Special guest soprano Adrienne Danrich will join the Symphony on stage. Danrich is a multidisciplinary singer who goes beyond treating listeners to beautiful music – she invites them to feel the emotion of each performance alongside her. She has performed in operas across the country, and is most notably recognized for winning a Midwest Emmy® for her performance and narration of, This Little Light of Mine: The Stories of Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price.
In the spirit of the holidays, Altrusa will collect non-perishable food items for Grace Network in the auditorium lobby during the concert.
Tickets to Piedmont Arts’ annual Roanoke Symphony Holiday Pops Spectacular are $25 for reserved seats, $15 for general admission and $5 for students. Tickets are on sale now at Piedmont Arts and online here.
