Piedmont Arts Guild Holds Annual Kitchen Shower for Museum

(L–R) Piedmont Arts Guild Members Brenda Hundley, Kathy Shelton and Mary Helen Wagner show off the gifts Piedmont Arts received at the Guild’s annual kitchen shower on Thursday.

The Piedmont Arts Guild held a kitchen shower for the museum on Thursday, January 23, 2020. This annual event allows Piedmont Arts’ kitchen to stay stocked with much needed items, like dish soap, fresh hand towels, serving platters, plates and more.

“Piedmont Arts' kitchen is certified by the Virginia Department of Health,” said Finance and Rental Manager Pam Allen. “The Guild’s gifts help the museum maintain cleanliness standards, while providing basic and specialty kitchen items that Piedmont Arts needs.”

“We are so fortunate to have a group of devoted supporters in the Guild,” said Executive Director Heidi Pinkston. “They support the museum in so many ways, from volunteering as hostesses, to preparing food for Art at Happy Hour, to spreading the word about events. Their annual kitchen shower is greatly appreciated by all the museum staff and board.”

The Piedmont Arts Guild encourages and develops awareness and appreciation of the arts among the citizens of Martinsville and Henry County. The Guild holds regular monthly meetings at Piedmont Arts, which include a luncheon for members and guests, a brief business meeting and programs about visual arts, music and performances. For information on joining the Piedmont Arts Guild, call the museum at 276.632.3221.
