On Tuesday, around 50 educators and guests attended Carving a Place in History, an educational lecture on the life and legacy of Thomas Day. Day is one of American history’s most notable entrepreneurs and craftsmen. The lecture was given by Laurel Sneed, director of the
Thomas Day Education Project and the
Apprend Foundation. Sneed visited Piedmont Arts in conjunction with the exhibit
Finishing History: Furniture and Other Works by A.T. Williams and Thomas A. Johnson, which features an educational exhibit on Day including two pieces of his furniture.
